Tanzania tourist visa

Tanzania issues a 30-day tourist visa directly to the traveller. Currency-declaration rules apply on both entry and exit, and a yellow-fever certificate is required if travelling from an endemic country.

Documents required

What we need to process a Tanzania tourist visa.

  • Clear and valid passport copy of client (minimum validity of 6 months prior to arrival/travel).
  • Travellers must declare international currency valued at more than $10,000 on both entrance to and exit from Tanzania.
  • Non-residents (except Kenyans and Ugandans) may not import or export Tanzanian Shillings (TZS).
  • One blank passport page.
  • Yellow-fever certificate (required if travelling from a yellow-fever endemic country).

  • Visa applications submitted to Immigration take approximately 2 to 3 working days to process (excluding weekends and public holidays).
  • Agents requiring urgent visas must contact Eros Africa directly. Additional charges apply for urgent applications.
  • Eros Africa Visa Team take no responsibility for any delays that may arise in the visa application process.

Visa conditions

Conditions you and your clients must accept.

  • Tourist visas are issued by the Tanzania Immigration Authorities to the client directly.
  • Eros Africa Limited reserves the right not to offer visa service without giving a reason.

Important details

A few things to keep in mind.

  • Issuance of visas is subject to the sole approval of Tanzania Immigration and cannot be guaranteed by Eros Africa Limited.
  • Government fees are subject to change and are non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Issuance of a visa does not guarantee entry into Tanzania. Entry is at the ultimate discretion of Tanzania Immigration Authorities.
  • The issued visa becomes invalid if the information on the visa changes. It is the responsibility of the Agent to ensure visa conditions remain valid at the time of travel.
